  • Wednesday, March 28, 2012 - "When Henry Thoreau Came to Fitchburg:  A Transcendental Travelogue."  At the Fitchburg Public Library, 610 Main Street, Fitchburg, Mass., 6:30-7:30 p.m.  Sponsored by the Fitchburg Cultural Council and Freedom's Way National Heritage Area.  [Topic not technically about the Journey West trip.]

  • Friday, April 27, 2012 - "Three Days in May:  When Henry Thoreau Came through Illinois."  A morning session during the conference of the Environmental Education Association of Illinois, held at the Four Rivers Environmental Education Center, 25055 South Walnut Lane, Channahon, Illinois.  Conference registration is required to attend.

  • June 21-22, 2012 - "Following in Henry David Thoreau's Minnesota Footsteps."  A session held during the conference of the Minnesota Association for Environmental Education, held at Itasca State Park, 36750 Main Park Drive, Park Rapids, Minnesota.  Conference registration is required to attend.

  • July 13, 2012 - "He Traveled a Good Deal:  Promoting Thoreau Country Beyond Concord's Borders."  Participant in a panel discussion held at the Annual Gathering of The Thoreau Society, Concord, Mass., 10:30 a.m. to noon, on the Masonic Lodge's main floor.  Conference registration is required to attend.
